Shooting Star Artist:
Sandy Lupton

My artwork showcases my warped sense of humor formed as a kid by hours in front of the TV watching Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Gilligan's Island, and John Wayne movies. I work primarily in collage on canvas. I love layers of color, vintage photos and old papers. I am intrigued by photos of women with bouffant hairdos, men leaning on shiny old cars, and children with their dogs. I work full time as a graphic designer to support my thrift store habit. I am mostly self-taught from books and magazines, but I have taken classes with Lesley Riley, Claudine Hellmuth, Karen Eide, Kat Allison, and others.

Mixed Media and Jewelry Artist Sandy Lupton has exhibited in numerous shows throughout Virginia including the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, Shooting Star Gallery, The Suffolk Museum, The Red Thread Studio, and the Rawls Museum Arts. Sandy's works have also been featured in the following magazines and publications: Somerset Studio, Rubber Stamper, Cloth/Paper/Scissors, Creating Keepsakes, Stamper's Sampler, Artitude Zine, Rock and Gem, Belle Armoire, and Belle Armoire Jewelry 3.  Lupton's mixed media pieces are a perfect balance of humor and sentiment presented in vibrant color and fanciful design.
